Cardeña Tripel 7% – Spanish Trappist beer 33 cl
Cardeña Tripel is a blond Spanish Trappist® beer with 7% ABV. Behind the beer is the monastery of San Pedro de Cardeña near Burgos. It combines monastic brewing tradition with the classic Belgian-influenced Tripel style.
Taste and character
In the glass, the Tripel appears light amber with a lush head of foam. Fruity and herbal notes define the taste, followed by a long, slightly dry finish.

The story behind Cardeña
With the introduction of the Cardeña Tripel on March 16, 2016, a new chapter in the Spanish Trappist beer tradition began. The recipe was developed in collaboration with Scottish master brewer Bob Maltman. The monastery describes its beers as handcrafted from barley malt, hops, yeast, and water, with a secondary fermentation in the bottle.
Today, the range includes not only the Tripel with 7% ABV, but also Cardeña Doble with 6% ABV and Quadrupel with 10% ABV. The International Trappist Association recognizes Cardeña as the first Spanish Trappist® beer.
Serving tip
Serve in a bulbous beer glass so that the fruity and herbal aromas can unfold. As a food pairing, we recommend aged cheese or roasted poultry.
