Since 1862, the monks of Scourmont Abbey in the Belgian Ardennes have been brewing according to traditional monastic brewing practices. Chimay Bleue – also known as Chimay Grande Réserve – is the brewery's most potent and complex beer. A dark brown Trappist beer with extraordinary depth and aging potential.
Taste & Aroma
Dark brown in the glass, with a creamy, beige head. The nose opens with notes of dark fruits, roasted aromas, caramel, and a hint of oak. Full-bodied and complex on the palate, with notes of plums, chocolate, spices, and a warming alcohol presence. The finish is long, deep, and elegant.
