Embrasse Peated – Whisky Barrel Aged 33cl
Embrasse Peated – Whisky Barrel Aged 33cl
Embrasse Peated – Belgian Dark Ale matured in whisky barrels
Zythos Consumers Trophy 2012
The very first barrel-aged beer from De Dochter van de Korenaar. Embrasse Peated matures for about a year in Islay whisky barrels. The barrel aging allows the beer to absorb the rich whisky notes and become softer and rounder in taste. In 2011, it won the Zythos Consumers Trophy – an award that spurred the brewery to further refine its skills in the world of barrel aging.
Brewsheet
A high-quality, wood-aged, all-malt beer with bottle fermentation. The beer matures for an average of six to eight months in peated whisky barrels. Through barrel aging, it absorbs the strong smoky notes of the whisky and becomes complex and full-bodied.
